Miyako Island, located about 300km southwest of Okinawa's main island and about an hour by plane, is known for its spectacular views of emerald green seas and white sand beaches.
Miyako Island, located in the center of the Miyako Islands, is connected to several islands by bridges, and one of these, Irabu Island and Shimoji Island, connected by the Irabu Bridge, is dotted with many spots where you can see the stunning contrast between the blue sky and the emerald green. In search of spectacular views, try a dashing ride across the island on the GREEN RIDE.

Simply unlock the app and get going!
It's an electric assist bicycle, so you can move forward with ease with just a little effort.
It feels great to ride while feeling the breeze on your skin!
The GREEN RIDE is equipped with an assist system, so you can easily climb the slope.

Makiyama Observatory
From the elevated Makiyama Observatory, you can see the entire Irabu Bridge, which opened in 2015 and connects Miyako Island and Irabu Island. Check out the beautiful curves of the bridge floating on the beautiful Miyako blue sea.
It's about a 200-meter walk from the parking lot to the Makiyama Observatory, but with GREEN RIDE you can park your bike at the base of the observatory, making it easy.
The sky, white clouds, and sea visible between the tall sugarcane plants are beautiful! The charm of the GREEN RIDE is being able to ride while feeling the island breeze.

Nushi Bridge(Nushi Hashi)
As I continued along the road and crossed the bridge, I was greeted by a spectacular view of pure white sand and blue sea. The river-like sea between Irabu Island and Shimoji Island was a beautiful mix of blue and emerald green, and it brought me to a halt as I pedaled my bike.
At Shirahama Beach, the locals seemed to lose track of time as they gazed upon the beautiful sea.
Continue along the GREIDE in search of spectacular views you've never seen before.

"Toriike" on Shimoji Island
Rainwater has eroded the limestone into a bowl-shaped depression, which is filled with seawater and has a shape resembling a pond. There are two ponds connected to the sea, the one closer to the sea is called "Ichinoike" and the other is called "Ninoike." The two ponds are connected, which is why they got the name "Toriike."
It is a precious spot that has been designated as a national scenic spot and natural monument, so be sure to visit and enjoy the beauty of nature's creations.

17END
"17END" on Shimojishima Island is a spectacular spot with an emerald green sea and pure white sandy beach. Located right next to the runway of Shimojishima Airport, if you time it right you can see planes passing overhead. The contrast between the crystal clear sea and the sky is beautiful and makes for excellent photos. As it is a popular spot, the parking lot may be full and you may not be able to park your car, so you may have to wait until a spot becomes available. Also, since it is quite a distance to the end of the runway, it can be difficult to walk, but with GREEN RIDE you can easily ride right up to the end. Be sure to watch out for pedestrians as you make your way to the end.
If you're feeling energetic, give it a try.

Irabu Ohashi Uminoeki
If you're using the GREEN RIDE, you can enjoy a meal at the Uminoeki Restaurant inside the Irabu Ohashi Uminoeki, or shop on the souvenir and specialty goods floor. You can purchase gourmet food made with ingredients from Miyakojima and Irabujima, as well as local specialties. There are no convenience stores and almost no vending machines on the way to Irabujima and Shimojijima, so it's a good idea to purchase drinks and snacks at the Irabu Ohashi Uminoeki.
